Do you love solving complex data challenges? Are you one of the most resourceful and ambitious people you know? If so, you'll be right at home at Unwrap.
We are seeking a Data Integrations Engineer with a passion for building scalable, reliable data pipelines that connect diverse data sources into cohesive systems. Customer feedback is everywhere. You will play a critical role in helping Unwrap extract and ingest this feedback from hundreds of platforms.
This role is based in our Santa Barbara, CA headquarters, just three blocks from the beach.
Who We Are
Unwrap.ai is on a mission to fill the world with products people love. We help companies like Lyft, Stripe, Oura, Microsoft, Perplexity, and Github collect, integrate, and process customer feedback at scale. Our platform ingests data from hundreds of disparate sources—support tickets, reviews, surveys, and social channels—and applies state-of-the-art NLP to generate actionable insights for product and engineering teams.
We’re currently a team of 25 (and growing fast), backed by world-class investors with $12M in Series A funding.
Our founders, both ex-Amazon Alexa Product Managers, started Unwrap after feeling the pain of wading through endless customer feedback with no scalable solution. Today, our platform automates that process so companies can quickly understand what customers want and build products they love.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that bring feedback from 3rd-party platforms (support tools, survey systems, CRM, etc.) into Unwrap.
Develop custom integrations and APIs that make it easy for customers to connect their unique data sources.
Collaborate with customers and engineering teams to ensure incoming data is structured, clean, and actionable.
Own projects end-to-end: from understanding customer integration requirements, defining data mapping strategies, and writing ETL code, to testing and maintaining reliable production systems.
Work closely with enterprise customers to troubleshoot and optimize integrations.
-
Drive improvements in scalability, automation, and system reliability across our ingestion stack.
Role Qualifications
2+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering.
Hands-on experience working with APIs, ETL workflows, and data pipeline tools (Python experience is a plus).
Strong understanding of data formats and protocols (JSON, CSV, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks).
Comfortable reading API documentation from 3rd party platforms and developing robust pipelines against those APIs.
Customer-facing experience (or willingness to engage directly with customers on integration needs).
A “builder at heart"—eager to spend the majority of your time actually coding, solving, and shipping.
What You Get
Ground floor impact at a Series A startup where your work defines key parts of our platform.
Significant, potentially life-changing equity.
Direct mentorship from company founders and senior engineers (report directly to a founder).
Accelerated career growth alongside the company’s expansion.
Opportunity to work directly with enterprise customers on solutions that shape real-world products.
Compensation Range: $85K - $140K
