The Role
We’re hiring our first in-house recruiter to lead the charge in scaling our world-class team. This is a foundational role: you’ll build our recruiting engine from scratch, own full-cycle hiring across technical and GTM roles, and partner directly with the founding team to define and execute on talent strategy.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in early-stage chaos, loves building systems, and is excited to attract the kind of people who want to build what hasn’t been built before.
Your Mission 🚀
Own end-to-end recruiting across all functions (engineering, GTM, Operations, and more)
Build the recruiting infrastructure from the ground up - tools, process, candidate experience, data tracking, etc.
Craft compelling job descriptions and outbound messaging to attract top talent in AI, engineering, and beyond
Partner closely with founders and hiring managers to define role requirements, interview processes, and closing strategies
Source exceptional candidates through outbound efforts and creative channels
Champion inclusive hiring best practices from day one

Build and nurture a talent pipeline for future roles as Tavus scales
Take lead on all things People Ops - from generating offers, onboarding new hires, handling visa logistics, etc.
Requirements
5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in-house experience as first recruiter at an early-stage startup
Proven success hiring top-tier talent across all functions, and specifically highly technical AI/ML roles
You’re a builder: you’ve created recruiting systems/processes from scratch or significantly improved existing ones
Exceptional communication and candidate experience instincts
Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in ambiguity

Passion for AI and the opportunity to shape a team working at the edge of what’s possible
Bonus if you have:
Experience hiring in ML/AI-heavy companies or deep tech startups
Experience building out roles/processes in Ashby
Played Portal 1 and 2 - or willing to as part of onboarding 😄
