Job Description:
The primary function of this role is the leading and managing of international government and commercial proposals across our Asia business. The BD Ops team is looking for this candidate to have strong technical writing experience, capable of conflating complex technical ideas into succinct prose. The candidate should also have excellent verbal communication and team coordination skills to facilitate contributions from teams across the Shield AI team. In this capacity the proposal manager will be able to support our growing number of proposals and manage, write, and respond to requests for information.
What we are looking for:
--Confident team leader: Manage and direct proposal efforts among stakeholders across the globe. Lead stakeholder engagement to provide key contextual information, customer insights, market information to efficiently communicate and share business development strategy.
--Exceptional communicator: Strong and succinct technical writing paired with confident verbal communication skills. Develop proposals that result in high quality, compliant and compelling proposals that will score high and have optimal win probability.
--Extreme ownership: Serve as the primary cross-functional lead for each proposal at all levels of the organization. Manage proposal lifecycle from start to finish including kickoff, collaboration with stakeholders, and executive leadership reviews.
--Attention to detail: Develop compliance matrices to document solicitation requirements and ensure 100% compliant proposals are submitted to a customer. Maintain strict configuration management of all documentation.
What you'll do:
- Balance many competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment including proposal management, technical content generation, and process improvement.
- Manage and author technical content for requests for information, abstracts, and quad charts. Articulate complex technical concepts and build relevant products to address customer requirements.
- Support presentation and briefing development, graphics formatting, copy editing, and knowledge management processes to enable BD Operations team success.
- Support Account Executives to close deals and grow revenue by managing and driving critical business development operations.
- Work closely with BD, legal, finance, marketing, engineering, program, and product management teams to ensure proposal compliance for the technical, management, pricing, and past performance sections are completed.
- Provide additional support to BD team leadership such as miscellaneous projects including presentation materials, competitive intelligence gathering and/or other market information that may be gathered with the sales and marketing teams.
- Business operations support, top of funnel management, and proposal development.
Required qualifications:
- 4-6+ years of U.S. Federal or international government proposal development experience.
- In lieu of direct government proposal experience, have 5+ years of experience working with U.S. Federal or International government requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with proposal methodologies (e.g. Shipley), compliance matrices, and implementing project management tools and processes.
- Outstanding record of academic achievement.
- Demonstrated aptitude for analytics.
- Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to author technical content for requests for information, abstracts, and quad charts.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to jump in as a team player, practice flexibility, and adjust to changing priorities to support and embrace the start-up environment.
- You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience managing Foreign Military Sale and Direct Commercial Sale proposals.
- Strong technical background especially with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) and software.
- You have demonstrated thorough understanding and knowledge of the military operations and the acquisition process that allows you to maintain strong customer relations.
- Demonstrated understanding of specific DoD operational scenarios and systems.
- Understanding of international markets/geopolitical trends to drive international business strategy
- Active DoD security clearance.
