Pinecone is on a mission to build the search and database technology to power AI applications for the next decade and beyond. Our fully managed vector database makes it easy to add vector search to AI applications. Since creating the “vector database” category, demand has grown incredibly fast and it shows in our user base. We are a distributed team with clusters in New York, San Francisco, Tel-Aviv, and Manchester.

About the Team and Role:

Pinecone are seeking graduate software engineers to join their Field Engineering team. This role will expose you to an exciting variety of different projects and technologies. You will work within a highly efficient software engineering team on a number of customer-facing and internal technologies. Examples include putting together an amazing demonstration to win the next major deal or using state of the art AI / ML capabilities to make our company more efficient.

In this role, you will:

  • This role will provide contribution and ownership of a variety of projects. Including:

    • The next generation of AI solutions demonstrating Pinecone’s leadership

    • Performance benchmarks to identify competitive advantage and optimisation opportunities.

    • State of the art AI / ML interactive agent to handle customer queries

    • Internal telemetry and observability solution to get insights into product usage

  • As part of this team you will be responsible for learning new languages and technologies to bring these projects to life.


  • A First Class Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related subject

  • A passion for learning new technologies

  • Proficiency in one or more common programming languages

  • Creative and methodical problem solving skills to overcome technical uncertainty

  • A positive “can-do” attitude toward finding solutions rather than problems

  • Adept at multi-tasking and working on several initiatives simultaneously

  • Comfortable working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.

  • (Preferred) Strong background knowledge in a number of relevant areas (including: AI/ ML, Cloud computing, operating systems, networking, databases).
