About the Role

OpenAI is looking for a Localization Manager to lead and scale localization efforts across the company, ensuring our products and content resonate with users globally. Reporting into the Marketing org, this role will focus on marketing surfaces first (openai.com, chatgpt.com, campaigns, SEM, SEO, ASO and other marketing assets), while partnering closely with Product, Help Center, AI Academy, Trust Portal, Legal, and regional teams to deliver consistent, high-quality localized experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive localization strategy and execution across marketing surfaces (websites, campaigns, education content) with alignment to Product and other orgs.

  • Partner with Product and Web Engineering to improve localization workflows and internationalization infrastructure.

  • Pilot and scale AI-first translation workflows with human-in-the-loop review, balancing speed, cost, and quality.

  • Manage vendor and linguist relationships, sourcing and onboarding high-quality talent in priority markets.

  • Collaborate with GTM, Product Ops, Partnerships, Legal, and regional teams to prioritize languages, align on launch timing, and ensure the right surfaces are localized for the right audiences.

  • Oversee glossary, style guide, and terminology management across all languages for consistency across product and marketing.

  • Lead linguistic QA and quality review processes, ensuring localized content meets high standards.

  • Build lean, scalable processes to support global growth while maintaining efficiency and impact.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

  • Proven experience managing localization across marketing, product, and cross-functional surfaces in a global tech environment.

  • Strong knowledge of localization workflows, tools (TMS, CMS, connectors, APIs), and infrastructure.

  • Experience piloting AI/ML-assisted translation workflows with human-in-the-loop QA.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple functions (marketing, product, engineering, legal, customer education, trust) to deliver global launches.

  • Skilled in vendor and linguist management; experience sourcing for priority markets.

  • Strong communication and project management skills, with ability to balance multiple priorities.

  • Impact-driven and resourceful. Able to deliver high-quality outcomes with lean resources.
