We are looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to join our team and play a critical role in scaling our world-class Engineering organization. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to hiring managers, driving full-cycle recruitment while identifying top-tier technical talent for highly competitive and hard-to-fill roles. We hold a high bar for talent at Descript and are looking for a recruiter who is energized by this challenge—someone who seeks out excellence, champions quality over quantity, and understands the long-term impact of every hire.
Beyond sourcing and hiring, you’ll help shape and elevate how we hire: refining processes, advocating for the candidate experience, and ensuring our practices are inclusive, efficient, and forward-thinking. Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leaders, deeply understanding their hiring needs and aligning on recruiting strategies that attract and close top talent.
- Own the full-cycle recruitment process: from sourcing and screening through offers, negotiation, and onboarding.
- Drive innovative and creative sourcing strategies to build a pipeline of highly qualified, diverse candidates.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure a cohesive and equitable hiring process.
- Champion a high-touch candidate experience, treating every interaction as a reflection of our brand and values.
- Continuously improve our recruiting practices, tools, and workflows, using data and feedback to inform decisions.
- Uphold and raise our talent bar—consistently pushing for rigor, fairness, and thoughtfulness in every hiring decision.
- Actively contribute to the culture and cohesion of the recruiting team—sharing knowledge, offering support, and celebrating wins together.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, preferably in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Demonstrated success in hiring for complex technical roles with high hiring standards.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills—you know how to navigate relationships with senior stakeholders and push for the best outcome.
- Passionate about delivering a remarkable candidate and hiring manager experience.
- A strong sense of ownership—you drive processes forward, see challenges as opportunities, and follow through on commitments.
- Experience using Greenhouse and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter; familiarity with ModernLoop is a plus.
- A thoughtful team contributor who thrives in collaborative settings and cares about building an inclusive, supportive culture.
- Based in or near the San Francisco Bay Area and willing to work from our office on a regular basis.
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000. Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, and location, and they may vary from the amount above.
