About the Team
The Engineering team at Clari is an Agile shop that practices Scrum across all of our teams. We layer in coordination practices such as Big Room Planning to stay aligned to Clari’s KPIs quarterly across sites and teams. Groove, a Clari company serves some of the most historically underserved users, many of whom have been stuck using unintuitive and clunky software for their whole careers. It's not uncommon that users spend 4-6 hours a day using and interacting with Groove. Our goal is to elevate the user and the work they can do.
About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to own and drive the technical direction of Clari’s VOIP Dialer. The dialer will be used by thousands of Sales users (Clari’s customers) on a daily basis as a core part of their job - a great improvement over the legacy phone systems they are using today.
We develop Enterprise SaaS products, fundamentally powered by AI and Analytics to transform the way track, forecast, and predict revenue. We are 100% cloud-native and build our product using reliable tools and technologies that our team knows and trusts, including Java, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS. Expertise in these areas is a huge plus, but having familiarity with common web languages (Such as Python or Ruby) and other databases are fine substitutes.
We’re a collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, backend, frontend, mobile, automation, and quality engineers to make Clari a better product. We’re looking for engineers that have a passion for building great products with simplicity, usability, scalability, and reliability in mind.
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Kraków, Poland. Candidates must be based in Poland.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for a 3-5 person engineering team focused on building a sales dialer product
- Architect, design, and implement robust telephony solutions using Twilio and other relevant VOIP API technologies
- Shape future-proof interfaces that are easy to build against and meet the requirements of client-facing teams
- Brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, Frontend Engineers, and other cross-functional partners to conceptualize and build new features for our growing user base
- Produce high-quality results by leading or contributing heavily to large cross-functional projects that have a significant impact on the business
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack, and uplevel the observability and reliability of the overall system
- Mentor engineers earlier in their technical careers to help them grow
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
Qualifications
- Strong technical background, including 10+ years of experience building impactful large-scale products or systems using Java or a similar object-oriented language
- 3+ years of experience in telephony systems and APIs, preferably with Twilio
- In-depth understanding of telephony concepts such as SIP Trunking, VoIP, WebRTC, PSTN, and IVR is a big plus
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting SIP endpoints, dial plans, and call routing is a plus
- Experience in designing and developing CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) solutions is a plus
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, data stores, data modeling, indexing, and associated trade-offs
- Skilled in working across engineering teams in building technical architecture and design alignment, driving decision-making, and communicating transparently
- Cross-team communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers
- Built observable systems that track important metrics, investigated and addressed issues with performance, scalability, and maintainability
