About the Role

As the Sr Manager, New Hire Experience at Abnormal Security, you will be the architect behind our comprehensive onboarding program, tailored specifically for a remote-first organization. Your role is pivotal in creating a seamless and engaging onboarding experience for our new hires, ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and equipped to excel from day one. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders to secure buy-in and alignment, while also liaising with various departments to ensure content relevance and up-to-date resources. Your expertise in managing onboarding platforms and your strategic vision will drive the successful execution of our end-to-end onboarding strategy, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of our global team.

What you will do

End to End Strategy and Execution

    • Develop and execute end-to-end strategies for new employee onboarding, from pre-boarding activities to post-onboarding follow-up and support.
    • Monitor key metrics and feedback to improve the onboarding process and outcomes continuously.
    • Create – a vision of the new hire experience and what excellence looks like for the organization at a company level and a team level
    • Once vision is aligned create a strategy to put that vision into action

Program Development and Content Creation

    • Spearhead the creation and development of a global onboarding program, ensuring it caters to the needs of remote-first employees.
    • Craft engaging content and materials to facilitate a comprehensive onboarding experience, leveraging digital tools and resources effectively.
    • Focus on creating a positive and memorable onboarding experience for new hires, promoting engagement and retention.
    • Lead the overhaul of the global orientation agenda, redesigning it to be more effective, engaging, and inclusive for remote-first employees.
    • Implement strategies to integrate company culture, values, and mission into the onboarding process, fostering a sense of belonging from day one.
    • Continuously update and expand content to reflect evolving organizational needs, industry trends, and best practices.
    • Help design and implement Manager Orientation

Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with senior leaders to gain buy-in and support for the onboarding program, emphasizing its strategic importance and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Present onboarding strategies and outcomes to senior leadership, soliciting feedback and refining approaches as needed.
    • Act as a liaison between departments including IT, recruiting, People Operations, and HRBPs.
    • Understanding the impact the program has on business outcomes.


    • Facilitate employee welcomes and orientations, ensuring new hires feel valued and supported from the outset.
    • Coordinate with various stakeholders to organize welcoming events or activities, both virtually and in-person as applicable.

Must Haves

  • Proven track record in building out onboarding programs for remote-first organizations, ideally within the technology sector.
  • Strong background in leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance the onboarding experience and promote employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to drive alignment and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a passion for creating positive employee experiences in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in employee experience, engagement and communications.
  • Frequent travel required for attending in person onboarding bootcamps.
